Mapple keys
terra cota and paper, 12 cm
Made of letters written in 1870 by my ancestor
Médéric Fontaine, to his wife and daughter,
many times a day.
Its wonderfull calligraphy, the acid-free writing-paper
and the excellent ink have resisted to time and to glue.
Like seeds which, by travelling try to transmit the genetic
legacy of the tree, those transformed letters
hold a part of my ancestor's
memory and make him exist today.
